Calling DeLand, Fla., a small town probably depends on your definition of a small town, with nearly 50,000 residents and Stetson University calling it home. But calling DeLand one of Florida's most charming towns should not come under much scrutiny.
Situated nearly smack in the middle of Daytona Beach and Orlando, DeLand is worth a stop along your road trip, even if it's just for a couple hours in the afternoon. Stroll the historic downtown, pop into some of the dozens of quaint shops and be sure to make time for food – there are plenty of options.
