Nights of Lights in St. Augustine – a world-renowned holiday event that lasts from Nov. 15 through Jan. 11 – features 3 million Christmas lights.
That's roughly one light for every visitor flocking to town to see them.
The visitors flood the historic downtown, the bayfront, Plaza de la Constitucion, Bridge of Lions, the Uptown Shopping District. Everywhere.
So FloridaHistoricCoast.com is offering tips to travelers heading to the nation's oldest city to take in this famous event.
And it's probably a wise move to "know before you go" as this is one of Florida's Best Annual Events (you can vote for that HERE by the way). In fact, Nights of Lights is a finalist in three Florida's Best categories: Best Annual Event, Best Christmas Event and Best Christmas Lights Display.
Two of the biggest tips are to experience it by foot and, secondly, try to go on a weeknight. Use the free park-and-ride shuttles so you don't even need to deal with the stress of traffic or parking. Check out FloridaHistoricCoast.com and download its Nights of Lights app that features directions to the shuttles, the shuttle times, the ability to pin your parking spot, lists of shops, restaurants, live music and other activities, and perhaps most importantly ... locations of the public restrooms.
Nights of Lights is a must-see Florida experience. These simple tips will help you enjoy this incredible event to the fullest.
